Willie Harper Obituary

Willie James (Aka Jim ) Harper was born on April 30th 1942 to the parents of father Willie James Nellous and mother Marie Jones. Willie (aka Jim) born in Atlanta, GA at Grady Memorial Hospital, and raise in Indianapolis by his grandmother Emma Harper.

On November 23, 1964 Willie (aka Jim) Enlisted in the Army as an E4 Specialist air bourn air assault, to where he receives the National Defense service Medal where he Fought in the Vietnam War, Willie (aka Jim) was discharged November 1966. After he served in the military, he became a truck driver for Ownes Illinois Glass company.

Willie (aka Jim) worked different jobs through out his life. Jim was a free spirit. He devoted his life taking care of others, he took care of family and friends when they needed him the most. He took care of his mother until she took her last breath. In 2017 Jim moved to Warner Robins Ga.to be close to his daughter and grandkids and this is where he lived until death. On Saturday, December 28th 2024, God called Willie (aka Jim) home to be with him and many of his loved ones who had already surpassed those "Pearly White Gates".

Jim was preceded in death by his Mother, father, Grand mother and sister Rose Marie Jones.

He leaves to cherish his memories his two children Debra Brown (Henry) and Davin Mitchell (Lioust); his devoted sister Kenya Wilson; ten grand children; six great grand children and a host of other family and friends.
