Sirvairadae Harris Obituary

Bishop Sirvairadae Derod Harris, the eldest son of Ms. Rachel Jackson-Harris and the late Mr. Joe L. Harris was born on March 23, 1968. “Dr. Sil”, as he was affectionately known to many, was educated in the DeKalb County School System.

Bishop Harris was married to Evangelist Carmelea Harris and of this union was blessed with four children.

Bishop Harris accepted the Lord as his personal savior and acknowledged the calling on his life at an early age. Even at a young age, throughout his high school matriculation, his fellow high school friends called him “Preacher”. Bishop Harris entered the ministry after graduating high school at the age of 17 and was licensed as a minister and a year later at the age of 18 was ordained an Elder in the Lord’s Church.

Bishop Harris continued his ministerial development while attending several religious institutions and seminaries, where he achieved several certificates and degrees. In 1992 he was installed as Pastor and throughout his life he has pastored several churches across the United States. His most prestigious honor to date is the achievement of his Doctor of Theology degree in the year of 2000.

Bishop Harris was consecrated as a Bishop in the year of 2012 and was affirmed as an Apostle in 2016.  Bishop Harris has served in the church in various capacities, including being a member of several ministerial advisory boards for various organizations, an Adjutant/Armor Bearer,  serving as the Bishop of Protocol for the United Churches of God in Christ, Inc., the Pastor of Bethel Judah Ministries and the Presiding Prelate of the Bethel Judah Assemblies Of Churches Inc.  His comprehensive knowledge of Religious Studies and Protocol of the church has allowed him to minister and to teach in many cities worldwide. He has consulted with various denominations and reformations.

Bishop Harris’s goal was to Exemplify Christ’s love for the church through his dedication and spiritual teachings. Bishop Harris was a man that walked in the 5-fold ministry and was a man after God’s own heart. His vision was to "Build A Kingdom Church with The King’s Agenda!".

On July 13, 2020, Bishop Harris made his triumphant transition from labor to his heavenly reward. Bishop Harris was preceded in death by his father Mr. Joe L. Harris. Bishop Harris leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife Lady Carmelea Harris, his mother Rachel Harris, children Sherita Darden (Emmanuel), Keisha Simon, Chiniqua Taylor (Dewayne) and Malcom Taylor (Christian), his bonus children Glenn and Erika Forrest, nineteen grandchildren, his brothers Craig Harris (Shaun) and Joe Harris, Jr., (Beverly), his sisters-in-law Sarah Hillman (Harvey Sr.), Sonya Phillips and Lady Tania Johnson (Bishop Corey) and his brother in-Law Apostle Dr. Calvin A.
