Phyllis Smith, 70, of Atlanta, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 27, 2025.
Phyllis Smith was born on August 10, 1955, to the late Jimmy Lewis Smith and Parrie Smith.
Phyllis was a faithful member of Sanctuary for All People in Atlanta, GA, where she served with love and dedication as the Mother of the Church. She also held leadership roles as Chairman of the Hospitality Committee and Co-Chairman of the Pastor’s Aid.
She dedicated over 20 years of service to Aeroquip, where she was respected for her strong work ethic and warm spirit.
Phyllis will be remembered for her deep faith, generous heart, and the kindness she extended to everyone she met. Her legacy of love and service will live on in all who knew her.
She was preceded in death by her sisters, Diane Wright and Bernice James, and her brothers, Larry Smith and Jasper Smith.
Phyllis was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She leaves behind her devoted son, Roderick Binns (Suzette Davis Binns); granddaughters, Cierra and Brianna Binns; and great-grandson, Jacob Daniel Weaver Jr. She is also survived by her loving sisters, Gwendolyn Calloway and Barbara Jean Rogers (Todd Rogers); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and close friends.
