Mason Lavigne, Sr. Obituary

Mason Lavigne Sr., aka Big Lotta, was born on August 24, 1971, to the late Mason Thompson and Joycelyn B. Lavigne in New Orleans, Louisiana.  He accepted Christ at an early age, joining Saint Phillips the Apostle Catholic Church and eventually became a member of World Changers Church International, College Park, Georgia.  He was a loyal dedicated employee with the Fayette County Board of Education. He was also the best family and neighborhood barber, family man extraordinaire, and handyman ever!!  He was always a joy to be around, and his infectious smile captured everyone he met.  He had a big and sensitive heart for those he loved and was always willing to help whenever there was a need.  Mason met no strangers. He was always big on encouraging others and kept that same positive energy when he faced his own life challenges.  He would say to his family, “everybody needs to be present for each other, no matter what.”   At the end of his conversations, he would always say, “I love you, All D Time” in his own New Orleans flair.

Mason was called home to be with the Lord on Saturday, June 8, 2024, in the presence of his family.  He is preceded in death by his Grandmother, Marguerite Brown and Cecile Smith; Grandfather, Clarence Harris; Father, Mason Thompson; Mother, Jocelyn B. Lavigne and Sister, Sheryl A. Davis (Kevin, deceased).

He leaves his beautiful loving Wife, Rashida Lavigne; Sons, Mason Lavigne, Jr. and Micah Lavigne, and his little Princess Daughter, Malia Lavigne; Granddaughter, Malani Lavigne; God Daughters Latroya Lavigne and Donnisha Lavigne; and Mother-in law, Janice Fletcher to cherish his memory and legacy.

Brothers: Stanley A. Davis (Cheryl), Calvin J. Davis (Towonna), Edward E. Lavigne, and Desmon Lavigne (Janisha); Sisters: Troy Lynn Lavigne, Donna M. Johnson (Jerome), and Shawn M. Johnson (Stevie), Brother-in-law Ryan Neal (Blanca), and a host of Nieces, Nephews, Great and Great-Great Nieces, Nephews, family relatives and friends
