Marion Jackson was the third child born to the union of the late Edgar and Lillie Mae Jackson on January 29, 1933, in Atlanta Georgia. She attended E. R. Carter Elementary and Booker T. Washington High School. She married the late James Henry Brookins of Atlanta and to this union three children were born, Miles Jay Brookins (who proceeded her in death), Vincent Craig Brookins, Audrey Dianne Brookins, and Larry Eugene Black.
Marion enjoyed helping others, after attending Nursing school and became a Private Duty Nurse. She also attended Cosmetology school and was a dedicated Troop Leader for Brownies and Girl Scouts. She was also a member of the Mothers Board at Hunter Hill First Missionary Baptist Church. Later in life she found pleasure in designing floral arrangements.
Marion departed her life on May 11, 2023, she leaves to cherish her memory, Vincent Craig (Lisa Brookins), Audrey Dianne (Michael Allen), one sister, Barbara Jean (Rev. James) Pullin Sr., a host of grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, one sister-in-law Helen Bell, and a host of other relatives and friends.
