Josephine Broderick, a caring godmother, beloved daughter, sister, auntie, friend, and dedicated social worker, gained her eternal crown on November 17, 2025, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on September 20, 1958, in Libra, Africa, to the late Sir Broderick and Phoebe Collins. Josephine lived a life marked by service, compassion, and unwavering strength.
Josephine was a proud graduate with a bachelor’s degree in social work, dedicating her career to helping others as a social worker with DeKalb County DFACs until retirement. Her commitment to her community and her solid passion for people were evident in every aspect of her life. Josephine was a short, hardworking, and determined lady who fiercely stood her ground, embodying resilience in all she did. After retirement, Josephine went to work for Amazon Fulfillment Centers.
A devoted member of A Greater New Hope Church, Josephine served as an elder until her illness. Her love for God was profound, and her faith guided her through life’s challenges. She found joy in her church community and was known for her generous spirit and willingness to lend a helping hand.
Josephine's love for her family was boundless, and she cherished every moment spent with them, her siblings Ego Omeze Suah, Alexander Omeze, Ahah Omeze deceased, Beatrice Broderick, Afu Omeze, Chidi Omeze and Ngozi Omeze. She was the proud owner of Phebie’s Healing Hands, a business named in honor of her beloved mother, where she continued her mission of healing and service to others.
She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and compassion. Josephine is survived by her family and many friends whose lives she touched with her warmth and kindness. Her memory will forever be cherished by those who had the privilege of knowing her.
As we celebrate the life of Josephine Broderick, let us remember her unwavering dedication to service, her fierce spirit, and her immense love for God and family. She has left an indelible mark on our hearts, and her legacy will live on through the countless lives she impacted.
