Clarence Banks, Jr Obituary

Mr. Clarence Banks, Jr., a cherished pillar of the Pittsburgh community, was born on October 24, 1941,  in Atlanta, Georgia, to Clarence Banks, Sr. and Cleo Monroe-Banks. He was welcomed into the arms of  his Lord on September 10, 2024, and is now reunited with his beloved father, Clarence Banks, Sr.; his  mother, Cleo Moore-Banks; his brother, Arthur Banks; nephew, Stacey Holston, granddaughter Shaquita Denise Johnson ("Quita"), who preceded him in death.

Raised with affection in the vibrant Pittsburgh neighborhood of Atlanta, Jr. was a proud alumnus of  Carver High School, where he earned his place among the Mighty Panthers. He dedicated 38 years  of his life to Dawn Swann, exemplifying an unwavering commitment to his work until his retirement.  Known throughout his community for his tireless work ethic, generosity, and compassion, Jr. was also  admired for his sharp sense of style and his passion for automobiles and electronics.

Jr. found profound joy and companionship with Ms. Sarah J. Banks, whom he affectionately called his  "little Bitty Woman." Together, they shared over 30 years of marriage, a bond strengthened by their  mutual devotion to their faith. After finding his soulmate, Jr. rededicated his life to Christ and became  an active member of Greater Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, where he and Sarah contributed to the  community through various church committees and acts of service.

He leaves behind a legacy of love and devotion through his wife, Sarah J. Banks; his five children,  Robin and (Irvin) Tucker, Sharon Keith, Mary and (Richard) Coleman, Sherry Howard, and Donald  Howard; his two sisters, Annie Ruth Moore and Gladys Holston; special nieces and nephews, Wanda  Moore, Angelia Moore, Michael Moore, and Arthur Banks, Jr. Walter, Holston.
