In Ecclesiastes 3:1 (GWT) Everything has its own time, and there is a specific time for every activity under heaven: 2 - a time to be born and a time to die.
Charles “Chuck” A. Cooper, Jr. of Jonesboro, age 89, went to be with the Lord on January 8, 2023, at his home surrounded by his loved ones. He was born August 26, 1933, in Ohio. Chuck was preceded in death by the mother of his children and loving wife of 55 years, Shirley Jean Howell Cooper and his second wife of 10 years Linda Anderson Cooper, wonderful daughter Susan Cooper Suttles and amazing grandson James Nolan Suttles.
He is survived by his sons, James Franklin Cooper, Charles Edwin Cooper and Johnny Lawrence Cooper; daughter-in-love Marche’ Johnson Cooper; grandchildren Heather Suttles, Brian Suttles, Shirley Marlena “Sissy” Suttles, Christopher Adam Cooper and Camille Cooper Tice; and several beloved great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Chuck enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1950 to serve our great country at the age of 17 and retired in 1972, a few months later he began a job with the Army Civil Service and retired in 1998. He was an active member of Jonesboro First Baptist Church since the late 1980’s. Chuck loved spending time with family, beating them at Ping-Pong, playing golf, traveling to Hawaii, fishing, watching baseball or football and reading a good book. Dad took us to church; he wanted us to learn about the goodness of God. He will be greatly missed by all of us, we are so thankful for the promise we have of seeing him again in heaven.
A heartfelt thank you to Chasity and our Harbor Grace Nurses Stephanie and Shemeka for the love and kindness they provided to help us though this season of life.
