Mrs. Betty Mae McCollough-Peeples, the daughter of Mary and the late Mr. Walter Madry & Jessie Spence Sr., was born on June 14, 1969, in Fairfax, Alabama. She grew up as a member of the "True Holiness Church of God in Jesus' Name" in LaGrange, GA. Betty received her education in the LaGrange City Schools and graduated from LaGrange High School in 1988. She later earned an Associate degree in Business Administration from Gwinnett Technical College. Betty worked tirelessly within the metro Atlanta area as the Senior General Manager/Food Safety at Paradies Lagardere Dining Division Hospital Services located within Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport for 18 years. Betty's tireless work ethic and nurturing nature made a permanent mark on each soul she encountered.
Betty was married to Benjamin Peeples, and they shared a mutual love of music and art that transcended time. Betty passed away on June 28, 2024, and is survived by her three sons and their wives: Adrian Webster, Marcus (Marie) Webster, and Stephen (Mahki) Palmer; her mother, Mary Spence; her siblings: Annie Spence, LaNan (Rodney) Dudley, Jessie (Pamela) Spence Jr., Jeremiah (NaKeisha) Spence, Malissa (Dasmond) Davis, Jarvis Smith, and Shaquitia Pruitt. She also leaves behind three grandchildren: Jeremiah, Emily, and Kaliyah, and 11 nieces and nephews.
She will be dearly missed by her four aunts and uncles: Betty-Jean, Martha, Maggie, Teresa, and Leroy. Her close friends Tameka, Denice, Tasha, Pamela, Traz, Dwayne, and Donna remember her fondly as ambitious, a guardian, and a giver. In the eyes of her children, the three best words that described her were: caring, protective, and determined.. Her heart overflowed with love, joy, and compassion that knew no bounds. Betty touched the lives of everyone she came in contact with, and her legacy will live on forever.
